The Best Romantic Hotel Staycation

I cannot believe how fast one year of marriage flew by. I am so blessed to be married to such an incredible man. You can read our engagement story here and how we won this crazy spontaneous wedding content with the Pitch and tied the knot here.

Our schedules are always hectic, so Steven and I decided to stay in town and low-key for our anniversary to enjoy each other and relax. We instantly knew that The Fontaine was where we wanted to celebrate our special day and that’s just what we did. You can check out some of my staycation looks here!

But wait…

Before we checked into our hotel officially, I decorated the room with candles and flowers to show Steven how much he means to me. The staff at The Fontaine helped me do this with no questions asked.

Not only does The Fontaine offer top-notch service… the hotel is beautiful! I loved the detail that was put into the hotel’s interior decor, from the luxurious lobby to the perfect lighting in the bathroom. My favorite pieces of decor were the velvet chairs in the lobby. So cute!

My Favorite Part

My favorite part of our romantic staycation was the stillness of it. We got to sleep-in, talk all night, and spend time together without worrying about our schedules. Our room at The Fontaine was so cozy. I loved the fluffy pillows and moody lighting in our room. Not to mention, the amazing bathroom lighting. I wish I could have taken their mirrors home with me. The big, bright lighting and cozy robe made me feel luxurious.

Parker

We enjoyed breakfast at Parker on the top floor of The Fontaine each morning during our stay. Their French toast, chicken and biscuits, biscuits and gravy, and omelets are delicious. I loved the soft, fluffy biscuits sooooo much. I’m a bread girl and I was impressed. Our server was awesome at helping us decide what to order and tending to our needs.

You should eat at the Parker at The Fontaine the next time you’re on the Country Club Plaza. I promise that you won’t be disappointed!

Romantic staycations are perfect for couples on the go that want to enjoy their hometown. If you’re looking for a swanky hotel in Kansas City you should check out The Fontaine and tell them that I sent you.
