3 Basics Every Girl Needs in Her Closet

Do you have a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear? Ever feel like you have a million pairs of jeans, but none that fit right? Sis, I've been there before and it sucks. Today's blog post is going to show you basics that you need in your closet and a couple of ways to style each piece.

Button-Down Blouse

You can't go wrong with a nice denim button-down or white button-down. I suggest purchasing 3 button-down tops in various washes and fits. I have a lighter washer button down that is fitted and a medium wash that has a boyfriend fit. I am on the hunt for a dark wash, fitted denim button down. Button-downs are great to wear as light jackets, to tie at the waist, to pair with a skirt and to create a monochrome look. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to denim button downs. White t-shirts

Classics are great for transitioning and layering. I can't stress the importance of owning white t-shirts enough. Buy them with different necklines and sleeve lengths. I bought my favorite white t-shirt from GAP in the men's department. Ladies, if you're into oversized tees then shop in the men's department at H&M or GAP and go down a size. I love to pair my white t-shirts with printed skirts or distressed denim.

Pencil Skirts

I may be a little biased on this one, but hey I'm honest. Pencil skirts are the perfect transition piece. You can wear pencil skirts with tights and booties or sandals or sneakers with knee-high socks. Whatever your style is, add a few pencil skirts. Before you pull out the tights, try a pair of fishnet stockings or go bare leg. I loooooove pencil skirts and can't wait to create a ton of fall looks with different pencil skirt combos.

That settles it. This was my official list of 3 basics every girl needs in her closet. This is just the start. As 2017 continues, I will teach you how to build a wardrobe and slay around the office without breaking the bank. Thank you for reading!
