Street Style: Fall in Como

Street Style in Columbia, MO by JasmineDiane.com

Street style is a great source of inspiration for me. I love seeing uniqueness in color, shape, prints, and fabrics around my campus, so what better way than to feature some of my super stylish peers! Twice a month, I am going to bring to you the latest and greatest in street style from COMO, better known as "Columbia, Missouri." Keep reading to get all of the details!

Shape: Mid-Thigh Length Outterwear
When it comes to coats this season, the longer the better. From pea coats to bubble coats, knee-length seems to be appropriate. I couldn't agree more. Everyone should invest a nice, fresh coat. I am saving up for a leather jacket. I have the usual black pea coat, tan trench coat, green parka coat, and a blue parka jacket, so one could say that I am a tab bit in love with outerwear. Mizzzou students have shown a ton of variety in outerwear this fall. What type of color are you wearing?
Color: Black
It seems as if everyone I spotted was wearing black! Black apparel says power and prestige. I love the simplicity and sexiness that my LBDs (little black dresses) provide! The second color that I spotted a lot was mustard which is a golden color. This it fitting since Mizzou's colors are black and gold! Go Tigers! Mustard looks great on women of color and quite honestly, it gives me an extra glow!
Fabric: Leather
Leather, oh baby! From leggings, to jackets, to trim on denim, to boots, leather is absolutely EVERYWHERE! I am on the hunt for a leather jacket that frames my figure just right and keeps me warm. Style guru Jaanna looks great in his green leather jacket with fur trim. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw him! I love his originality and foxiness. Kayla's black leather skirt screamed, "Sophisticated, edgy prep." I love the fact that she paired her plaid top and leather skirt. That's two trends in one.
Print: Plaid
Plaid is so popular this fall, typical. I've never been into plaid, but this year I seriously wear my red plaid Ralph Lauren button down weekly. There are so many chic & eye-catching ways to style plaid. I have yet to purchase a plaid skirt, but I am on the lookout for one. Plaid button downs are always in style. I've seen an increase in check print as well.
This post was truly a breath of fresh air. I hope that you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. I am looking forward to seeing more stylish folks in Como and Kansas City. Dolls, it pays to dress well. Until next time dolls, toodles!
