There Is A Time For Everything Pt. 1

It seems as if everyone I know is either engaged, knocked up, or already a parent. Then there is me... single without an ounce of baby fever. Lately, I have been feeling like a weirdo in society or castaway. I know that it is great to be with someone you love and to create a child, but right now that isn't my focus.

Do you ever feel like the black sheep? Everyday on facebook there is someone new getting hitched or expecting twins, yet I'm just trying to pass all of my classes and stay out of debt. When will it end? Never, but there are ways to appreciate where you are in life without comparing your current state with everyone else's.

Contentment Within

The best way to get over feeling like the black sheep is to focus in on what God is doing in your own life. Easier said than done, but so worth it. I am learning to be happy for my friends and family and facebook friends. Sometimes jealousy stirs up inside of me, but I am reminded that there is a time for everything. God reminds us of this in the book of Ecclesiastes.

The next time you see a classmate pregnant or with a shiny engagement ring, congratulate them and genuinely be happy for them. Besides you never know how much pain they went through to get where they are. Gratitude and appreciation go a long way in life. We have to take the good with the bad. Time to do it! Make each day count. Comparison robs the heart of contentment and joy, so enjoy where you are in life.

The Honest Answer

We're at an awkward stage of life, where we want to explore life for ourselves yet we yearn for a partner and intimacy. I really enjoyed being in a committed relationship, but I knew that I wasn't reaching my full potential because my desires and goals were out of focus. Relationships and children can take you away from developing as an adult. Enjoy this time of self-exploration and see the world. There is so much life out there to explore. I can't wait to see more of this beautiful country and the world.

So what everyone is getting married and creating families, you've got your whole life to be someone's wife. Enjoy your youth and fall in love with who you are. Take it one day at a time and never give up on the greatness inside of you!

I know that this post wasn't really my usual rant, but this topic has been on my mind for a few months now.
