Urbana KC was EVERYTHING

Live music, good vibes, delicious drinks and summer heat made my first time at Urbana KC both exciting and entertaining. I attending #UrbanaKC with my sistah-friend, La'Shonda of fashionplatekc.com. We spent the entire starry night taste testing bites and beverages from local restaurants, listening to live music and catching up.

About Urbana KC
Urbana KC is a new downtown street scene happening each first Wednesday of the month, all summer. Urbana KC has reimagined a familiar city block and kept out the cards so guests can eat and drink under the stars, hear live music, see public art displays and share a uniquely Kansas City summer experience, all in the heart of the Power & Light District neighborhood. Urbana KC takes place on the first Wednesday of the month all summer from 6 – 10 p.m.; June 1, July 6, August 3 and September 7.

My Experience
The vibe was ah-mazing, similar to First Fridays or Saturday mornings at River Market. I was excited walking over to the event, hearing live music and seeing a couple of familiar faces. I was greeted with a blogger VIP card in exchange for covering this event. Although I was compensated, all views are my own. Now that we've taken care of business, back to the juicy details.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere, specifically the chill urban feeling that was sparked as soon as I entered the gates. The first thing I tried were pretzel sticks with garlic aioli sauce and a margarita compliments of No Other Pub. Let's just say the pictures don't do the sauce justice and the marg was on point. Maybe that's why it didn't get a photo opp. LOL

After talking to a couple of friends and grabbing more bites, La'Shonda and I decided to snap a couple of pictures then sit to talk blogging. It's always fun and hilarious to catch up with sistah-friend. If you're following either of us on snapchat then you saw us making jokes and laughing the entire time. My favorite part of Urbana KC was the sense of community, KC pride, great food/drinks and kid-friendly crowd. I will be back to Urbana KC next month and you should join me!

Special thanks to Urbana KC and the Power and Light District for inviting me out and to all of the other sponsors. I had a fabulous time at #UrbanaKC!
