What Legacy Are You Building?

See this content in the original post

Legacy is important. It can serve as a reminder of what to prioritize and focus on when life gets hectic. As a Christian, wife, first-generation college graduate, and proud Black woman working in advertising I want women to see that anything is possible with God on their side. You don’t have to become who or what people say you should be. You can defy the odds and stereotypes set before you.

What do you want your legacy to be? What do you want people to remember about you?

It can be easy to shrink when you feel inadequate or suffer from imposter syndrome. But what if this time you decided to go for it? To thrust all of your time, attention, and passion into the dreams that God has placed into your heart. It may be difficult to juggle all of your responsibilities, trust me I get it.

Sometimes I mismanage my time and feel like my entire life is consumed by work and cleaning. Then I remember how much I love my husband, appreciate being able to do what I love which is work in advertising, and make enough money to purchase things without second-guessing.

Your legacy will come at a cost, but it will be worth it. Remember yourself that broken crayons still color. Stay the course.

You got this, girl. 2021 is your year! Listen to the latest episode of the My Girl Stories podcast here.
