You Are Exactly Where You Are Supposed To Be

2016 is walking right out of my life and I'm glad to see it go. This year has been amazing, from being featured in Marie Claire Magazine to working with big brands like Starbucks to landing my first full-time job at an ad agency to becoming active in ministry at my church. 2016 has also been super scary... I started the year without a job and no money in my savings account and lot's of fear about what my future held. Looking back at the beginning of the year, I can't help but smile at what God has done for me and through me.

I CAN'T HELP BUT TO SMILE AT WHAT GOD HAS DONE!

I've taken some time away from blogging and social media the last two weeks to reflect on the year, finish some projects and cry my eyes out about what I didn't accomplish. I planned to pay off my student loans and save enough money to move out of my grandfather's home. I have yet to do either and it sucks, honestly. I've spent more money shopping and eating out then ever before in 2016. Why? Because I've never had this money in my life. It's crazy how much we think we know ourselves until we're faced with a new circumstance, rather it be good or bad. And I was for sure I'd meet my prince charming this year. Let's take a moment to just laugh out loud at my nonexistent love life. Online dating to end the year? Maybe.

While I Was Away... KC Fashion Week

I say all of this to get you to see that everyone's path is different and good things come from unexpected places. My career has exploded, both online and professionally in 2016 and I wouldn't trade that for less debt or a new place. Sometimes we place value on tangible things without realizing the value of intangible objects. I could never buy my way into a national publication or dream my way into an ad agency. I didn't even know my current position as a social media manager existed 2 years ago.

Oh yeah, We Went to a Pumpkin Patch

I never fathomed that I would be living with my grandfather 6 years ago when he was on his deathbed with cancer and 4 weeks to live. What's your story? What pieces of your life are you worried about or taking for granted? Take a few days to sit back and really reflect on the last year. What amazing things or people have you looked over reaching for perfection? Both you and I have to learn to appreciate our current circumstances. It's all working together for our good.

WHAT AMAZING THINGS HAVE HAPPEN TO YOU THIS YEAR?

I want you to know that you can do amazing things. You are exactly where you are supposed to be at this very moment. Cherish today and strategize for tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
