5 Pairs of Shoes and How They Translate to Business

I’m a shoe girl these days. They really make or break an outfit. I wanted to share 5 pairs of shoes that I can’t live without this winter and how they translate to business. I mixed in some sneakers, heels, and boots since the weather is so unpredictable in Kansas City. Much like business. There are somethings that we can plan for like holidays and seasonal changes, but there are also a ton of factors that we cannot control.

You could be selling hundreds of products and services in one year then suddenly, things slow down because of the economy. How do you prepare for the upcoming recession? I have a few ideas that I related to my 5 favorite pairs of shoes.

These 5 shoe styles will help you keep your outfits fresh and business moving during change. Keep scrolling to read more!

Red Boots

Red boots are sure to make any outfit pop. I love to wear my knee-high red boots with flowy skirts and dresses. Don’t be afraid to create a monochromatic look using red boots as your statement piece. If you’re into textures, try a red snakeskin boot this winter. Check out some of my favorites below.

When it comes to business…

Red boots are your standout events or services that only take place once or twice per year. They are your brunches, galas, or fundraisers that take a lot of planning but yield a huge return for your business. You’re know for your red boots and should invest ample time and efforts into making them the best that they can be. Up your budget to make them better each year.

For example, my red boots are my Brunchin’ With Jas networking brunch series. This year I have decided to ask for volunteers ahead of time to make things flow. Each volunteer brings something special to the table like good communication skills, logistical thinking, a positive mindset, and great style!

Fun Sneakers

I am in love with my animal print sneakers from Steve Madden. They are comfy for travel and perfect for casual all black looks. You can dress up fun sneakers with a silky black top and skinny jeans. Or dress them down with a monochromatic denim look. Make sure you complete your sneakers look with a bold lip color or handbag.

When it comes to business…

Fun Sneakers are your risky marketing ideas. They are eye-catching, trendy, and take little creative thinking. You pull these out when you’re on a time crunch and can be casual. You aren’t at the end of a billing cycle or pushing a hard sales deadline. You have flexibility to make changes when you’re using your fun sneakers. They could be your #DollyPartonChallenge Instagram post, witty thank you postcards, or hot pink toy figures that you give out at the end of every year.

For example, I like to slide in witty marriage commentary into my IG posts that show my personality and make people laugh. I’m not a comedian, but I have gaged my audience and this type of content works.

I’m also giving new products and services a try in my shop this year. I’m calling those my fun sneakers because they’re new and exciting.

White Sneakers

You can never go wrong with a white sneaker. This year, I’m feeling Nike Cortez’s and Adidas classics. They both make my feet look small and go with just about everything. I love to travel in white sneakers and wear them around the office. Low tops are easy to rock with trousers for the office, too.

When it comes to business

White sneakers are your classic products and services. You bring in a lot of new business with your classic service offerings because of your good reviews. You always book a few of these services a month. You don’t have to push your white sneakers because they’re an easy up sale for new and returning customers.

For example, my branding sessions are my white sneakers. I book a few per month and have had a couple of returning customers over the years. I like to promote my branding sessions when I don’t have an event coming up or new product launch.

Snakeskin Boots

Girl, snakeskin boots are everything. I love the print and attention that they draw. They’re great for date night with my hubby and comfortable enough for our long church services. Check out my favorite short and over the knee snakeskin boots below.

When it comes to business

Snakeskin boots are your premiere products and services that make you the most money. They are at the end of your sales funnels and take the most time to perform (much like pulling up knee-high boots).

For example, my Girl, Branding Kit 2020 includes social media services, digital assets, and a branding call. This offering is perfect for small business owners with little social media or design knowledge. I designed it with my consumers pain-points in mind with a focus on their needs versus wants. The service is done for you and leaves you with a clear understanding of how to make your social media better, brand growth goals, and graphics that will make your feed pop.

Chunky Heels

These gold heels are always a hit. You can’t go wrong with a metallic chunky heel on a special occasion. They are comfortable for long nights and make quite the statement. I love to wear my chunky gold heels with floral dresses, all black looks, and more. These are my absolute favorite pair of shoes but they aren’t practical to pull out everyday.

When it comes to business

Chunky heels represent your competitive advantage aka what makes you stand out in the marketplace. They could be your stellar customer service, acne healing face cream, or no bad days edge control. Whatever the case may be, own it. Make sure you bring your chunky heels to every business meeting, event, and business-related interaction.

Without your chunky heels, your business won’t stay afloat. You must standout in today’s saturated market. Think about it, what makes you different? Why do you take customers from your competitors? Do you have a special type of voice, product, or service? Own it.
