I Wore A Mini Skirt to Work for the First Time

I wore a mini skirt to work for the first time today. Have you ever worn a short skirt to work? Did you have on tights? As a millennial woman of color, I sometimes struggle with finding the correct length or material of skirt that is suitable for work. Having thick thighs is a blessing and a curse. I have always loved my legs, like since middle school when the boys started to tell me that I had nice legs. Thanks guys! Lol, seriously I love summer because I can rock skirts and dressed without tights. I doubt I'll wear anything short and tight to work. My best judgement is to sway from anything that you can't bend over in. Skirts that flare hide some of my curves, which is a perk in the office.
The other thing that works for this look is the fact that my skirt is a print and my shirt is black, which gives my body a slimming effect. All in all, wearing short skirts to work is fine if:
1. You wear tights
2. Your top has a loose fit
3. You can bend over
4. You are comfortable enough to walk around the office
5. You own it
Honestly, you can get away with most things in the office if you are conscious of your body type and work in a liberal office space. I work at an ad agency, so naturally everyone dresses very casually, like jeans and sneakers casual. I wouldn't wear a mini skirt to a bank or accounting job. Use your best judgment and be fly.
