My Road to Graduation is COMPLETE + Tips for YOU
Mama we made it! I walked across the stage this past Friday, May 15, 2015 and can finally say that I am a Mizzou Alumni. I am beyond proud + excited! College was the best experience, ever. Late night gossip, staying up just to eat junk food and sing, running for the bus, cheating on my diet, breakup arguments in the club, business ventures, blogging, lifetime friends, and thousands of incredible memories with unforgettable people are just a few words I would use to sum up my college experience at the Zou!
I did not end up meeting nearly any of the goals that I set for myself in my initial Road to Graduation post and that is okay with me (see here). I took a break from to-do list and decided to live in the moment. Taking a break from blogging, photo shoots, and stressing over numbers was extremely helpful for me. With that being said here are a few college tips for you!
1. Live in the moment!
This tip is #1 because it took me 22 years to learn it. Force yourself to put your phone down, turn up the music, dance wildly, and forget about everyone else. I spent a lot of time alone during my last semester of college to collect my thoughts, goals, and just enjoy being alone. There is nothing more appealing than confidence in oneself. Take some time out to smell the roses and lay outside underneath the sun or moonlight (whichever your prefer). If you need some inspiration check out my
2. Use your resources.
I cannot say this enough! Resources= people, places, things, classes, supplies, etc. Do not shy away from free stuff or small investments that could have huge payoffs. Some of my most useful resources were my professors, the internet, the Craft Studio, etc. College is all about learning and growing. You have to make up your mind that you want to extend your learning outside of the classroom.
3. Trust your instincts.
Your instincts don't lie. Vibes DO NOT lie. Be confident enough in yourself to walk away from people and things that do not add joy to your life the first time. I struggle with this, a lot. It's hard to walk away from people and things you love, but at the end of the day you have to do what is best for you. Trust your instincts baby girl!
Thank you for reading and sticking with me through this transition! I will only be post on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from here on out! I need stability and balance in my life, which means less blogging. I will create a post about finding balance soon!
Ps. How was your college graduation? What are your plans post graduation? Oh yeah, here are
