The Thrill of the Chaste

I am currently reading The Thrill of the Chaste by Dawn Eden. The book is a tail of Dawn's former life as she participated in casual sex and lessons she learned along the way. She gives real life details on how she felt empty after one-night stands and short term relationships with guys that she knew weren't meant for her.

I love the honesty and openness of this book. The Thrill of the Chaste opened up my eyes to the beauty in chastity and the sacredness of sex. I never thought that I would want to be a relationship without sex because I didn't think that I was worthy of that type of love, but now that I know better it is great to read about a woman who has been through similar purposeless relationships and brief encounters with men that meant her no good.

Chastity is about much more than abstaining from sex or walking away from men that aren't meant for you. To me chastity means saying that I am worth the wait and I choose to practice physical and mental discipline with my sexuality.

Dawn Eden does a great job of backing up her ideas and thoughts with biblical principles. It is good to want to do better, but the biggest problem I had was a Biblical foundation to stand upon, so when I opened up this book I felt like I hit a gold mind.

I recommend that any and every woman reads this book. Even if you aren't a Christian or interested in abstaining from sex, you can take away great points on discipline and self-respect.
